Century Plyboards mulls demerger

KOLKATA - Century Plyboards (India) Limited Wednesday said it is mulling a demerger of its business leading to three separate entities.

The three legal entities would be the present company retaining plywood, laminate and logistic segments, one consisting of ferro alloy, power and investment in power subsidiaries, and another consisting of investment in a subsidiary engaged in cement business.

The board of directors discussed the demerger proposal at a meeting, the company informed informed the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

“Mr. Sajjan Bhajanka, managing director of the company was asked to examine proposal from all legal and regulatory aspects and place a draft demerger scheme at next board meeting for consideration,” it said.
