Ex-GM CEO Henderson to head Sunoco spin-off
PHILADELPHIA — Sunoco says that former General Motors CEO Fritz Henderson will join the company to head an energy spin-off that will be formed next year.
Henderson is joining Sunoco Inc. as a senior vice president and will help prepare for SunCoke Energy to split from the oil giant. He will then become CEO of SunCoke, which is Sunoco’s metallurgical coke manufacturing operations.
The 52-year-old Henderson led GM through its bankruptcy last year, but was later replaced by the automaker’s board chairman, Ed Whitacre.
