WASHINGTON (GaeaTimes.com)- The business world was stunned last month when the Hewlett-Packard Company’s CEO Mark Hurd resigned on August 6, 2010. The former CEO of HP was ousted from his post after 5 years when HP found out that he filed inaccurate expense reports. Recently media reported that the former CEO of Hewlett-Packard Co. has now joined software giant Oracle Corp. as the company’s co-president and a director on its board.

A statement released by Oracle yesterday afternoon states that Mark Hurd will report directly to Oracle Chief Executive Larry Ellison. Oracle CEO Larry Ellison, who previously disapproved of Mark Hurd’s exit from HP in one of his statements, said that Mark Hurd did a brilliant job at HP and he expects that he will do better in Oracle. The CEO of Oracle also stated that there is no executive in “IT world” with more “relevant” experience than the former CEO of HP. Oracle is presently looking forward to integrated hardware and “software” systems for the enterprise. Larry Ellison feels that Mark Hurd is the perfect choice for the company as he “pioneered” integration of hardware and software when Teradata Corporation was a part of NCR Corporation.

Mark Hurd seems all geared up for his new post in Oracle Corporation. The former CEO of HP in his statement maintained that Oracle Corporation’s strategy of combining software with hardware will give the company an upper hand and will give it strength and ability to beat IBM in both “enterprise servers” and “storage”. Oracle Corporation also stated that Mark Hurd will serve alongside Oracle President Safra Catz. On the other hand, Charles Phillips, who is Oracle Corporation’s current co-president will reportedly leave the company.
