NEW DELHI - Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Wednesday said it has entered into a multi-year agreement with US-based grocery retailer SUPERVALU for a full service engagement.

The deal will enhance the operational efficiency of SUPERVALU by integrating information technology (IT), business processing outsourcing and infrastructure services.

“As a part of this engagement, more than 600 SUPERVALU India associates will become part of TCS,” the Indian software major said in a regulatory filing.

The company, however, did not disclose the financial details of the transaction.

“The engagement with SUPERVALU reinforces our leadership as the long-term IT partner best equipped to help global corporations transform their businesses using our full services capabilities and domain knowledge,” said N. Chandrasekaran, chief executive officer and managing director, TCS.

The TCS scrip touched a new 52-week high on the Bombay Stock Exchange, at Rs.909.95, up 1.76 percent from its previous close, at Rs.894.15.
