Canara Bank Q2 profit up 11 percent to Rs.1,007.9 crore

MUMBAI - Canara Bank said Wednesday its net profit rose 10.69 percent to Rs.1,007.88 billion in the second quarter of the current fiscal.

The bank has posted a net profit of Rs.1007.88 crore for the quarter ended Sep 30, 2010 as compared to Rs.910.52 crore during the corresponding quarter last year, it said in a statement.

The public sector lender’s total income increased to Rs.6,077.06 crore in the second quarter of fiscal 2010-11 from Rs.5,602.1 crore in the same quarter last year.

During the first half of this fiscal, Canara Bank’s net profit rose to Rs.2,021.25 crore from Rs.1,465.89 crore recorded during the same period in 2009, registering a growth of 37.88 percent.
