Issue of new coins with the theme “PLATINUM JUBILEE OF RESERVE BANK OF INDIA”

The Reserve Bank of India will shortly put into circulation new circulation coins of `10, `5, `2 and `1 with the theme "PLATINUM JUBILEE OF RESERVE BANK OF INDIA"

The coins shall conform to the following dimensions, designs and compositions, namely :

1 . TEN RUPEES

Obverse : The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the center with the legend "mel³ecesJe pe³eles" inscribed below, flanked on the left upper periphery with the word "Yeejle" in Hindi and on the right upper periphery flanked with the word "INDIA" in English. It shall also bear the denominational value "10"in International Numerals below in the Lion Capitol, flanked on the left lower periphery with the word "©he³es" in Hindi and right lower periphery with the word "RUPEES" in English.

Reverse : The reverse of the coin shall bear the emblem of Reserve Bank of India, namely Palm Tree and Tiger with inscription "Yeejler³e fjeJeõ yeQkeÀ" in Hindi, on the left periphery and in English "RESERVE BANK OF INDIA" on the right periphery Word "huewfìôece pe³ebler" in Hindi and "PLATINUM JUBILEE" in English along with year "1935-2010" shall also be inscribed below the emblem.

2.  FIVE RUPEES

Obverse : The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the center with the legend "mel³ecesJe pe³eles" inscribed below, flanked on the left upper periphery with the word "Yeejle" in Hindi and on the right upper periphery flanked with the word "INDIA" in English. It shall also bear the denominational value "5"in International Numerals below in the Lion Capitol, flanked on the left lower periphery with the word "©he³es" in Hindi and right lower periphery with the word "RUPEES" in English.

Reverse : The reverse of the coin shall bear the emblem of Reserve Bank of India, namely Palm Tree and Tiger with inscription "Yeejler³e fjeJeõ yeQkeÀ" in Hindi, on the left periphery and in English "RESERVE BANK OF INDIA" on the right periphery Word "huewfìôece pe³ebler" in Hindi and "PLATINUM JUBILEE" in English along with year "1935-2010" shall also be inscribed below the emblem.

3.  TWO RUPEES
