Reshuffle in Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance

CHENNAI - Top level changes have been announced in the Pune-based life insurer Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company. The changes will come into effect from February 2011.

The company is a 74:26 joint venture between India’s Bajaj Finserv Limited and German insurer Allianz.

The company’s managing director and CEO Kamesh Goyal, who is also the country manager for Allianz, has been appointed the CEO of Allianz Asia Pacific to be based in Singapore.

He will continue to be India manager for Allianz.

Bajaj Allianz Life’s COO V. Philip has been designated as the new CEO and would take over Feb 1, 2011, subject to the approval of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA).

Goyal joined Allianz in 1999 and was the COO of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance in 2001. He took over as its CEO in 2004. He took over as country manager and managing director and CEO of Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance in 2007.

Philip has been with Bajaj Allianz since its inception in 2001.
