Intel Says McAfee Acquisition Approved By FTI

Intel announced on Tuesday that US anti-trust regulators announced that the 7.68-billion-dollar acquisition of the computer security firm McAfee, known for its antivirus and network security product. However the deal is still being examined in Europe.

The Federal Trade Commission has concluded its review of the proposed McAfee transaction and has cleared it,

Intel vice president for investor relations Kevin Sellers said via a post on Intel’s investor relations website.

We are continuing to work with the staff at the European Commission as they continue their review

Sellers added.

The Santa Clara, California-based micro chip company, Intel is denoted for processors that power about 80 percent of computers worldwide. The plan was announced in August. Thus all the speculations on a probable antitrust argument may start once again.
