Poll: Wis. residents’ economic view improving

MADISON, Wis. — A new poll shows that Wisconsin residents are more satisfied with the way things are going in the state than they were in the spring.

The University of Wisconsin Survey Center poll released on Wednesday also shows that nine out of 10 Wisconsinites believe the state is in bad economic times.

However, 51 percent say they are generally satisfied with the way things are going in the state. That’s 9 percentage points more than in the spring.

Less than 40 percent of those polled said they think the state or national economies will improve over the next year.

The random telephone poll of 507 residents was done between Oct. 29 and Nov. 20 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
