Correction: Former Tuskegee Airman obituary

NEW YORK — In a Jan. 28 obituary for retired Air Force Lt. Col. Lee A. Archer, a Tuskegee Airman, The Associated Press reported erroneously that the Air Force had designated Archer an ace for shooting down five enemy planes in World War II. The Air Force Historical Research Agency says Archer officially shot down four enemy planes, and researchers have not confirmed a fifth to be designated an ace.
