Larsen and Toubro bags Rs.747 crore deal

MUMBAI - Engineering and construction major Larsen and Toubro (L&T) Thursday said it had won orders worth Rs.747 crore from Coal India, Indiabulls Power and Hindalco for projects involving construction of coal handling plants and an aluminium rolling mill.

“L&T has secured a lumpsum turnkey contract worth Rs. 276 crore from Coal India for coal handling plant at Amlohri in Madhya Pradesh,” said the company in a regulatory filing.

The project will be completed in two years.

Another order worth Rs. 260 crore is from Indiabulls Power Limited for supply and erection of coal handling plants at Amravati and Nasik thermal power plants in Maharashtra.

The project is slated to be completed in 28 months and the work involves basic and detail engineering, said the company.

The company has also received an order worth Rs. 211 crore from Hindalco Industries for an aluminium rolling mill complex at Hirakud in Orissa. It is to be completed in 16 months.
