Micromax Crosses Border, Enters Bangladesh

NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The India based mobile handset companies are not only giving the old time players a run for their money in the domestic market but they are also gearing up to grab a pie of the huge international market. Micromax which is a popular brand in India and has become the third largest handset maker of the country quickly after its inception is also eyeing foreign markets. It is all set to start operations in Bangladesh and the company will launch a dozen mobile handsets in the country as it has said.

Micromax will target various consumer groups in Bangladesh and that is why it will sell mobiles targeted at the entry level uses and high end users. The company has also tied up with Bangladesh’s regional brands to set up a national distribution network. It has said that post the launch the buyers in Bangladesh will be able to buy its mobiles from as many as 2500 outlets in that country. It is looking forward to increase its global presence with this launch.

Micromax will launch mobile handsets in Bangladesh that will have cutting edge features like dual SIM, 30 day battery backup and Qwerty keypad. The phones of Micromax have become popular in India because they look stylish and give decent performance yet do not burn a hole in one’s pocket. The company hopes it will repeat its success story in Bangladesh too. The company has already started operating in a number of countries including Sri Lanka and Nepal. Reach Distribution will function as its distributor in Bangladesh as it has reported.
