Summary Box: IAC revenue rises in 1Q
REVENUE RISES: Internet company IAC/InterActiveCorp said Wednesday that its revenue rose almost 19 percent to $402.9 million in the second quarter, beating analyst estimates.
WHERE GROWTH CAME FROM: IAC showed growth across its businesses, including in its core search business. This unit, which includes search engine Ask.com and generates most of its revenue from online ads, had 18 percent growth.
WHAT IT MEANS: The search revenue growth indicates that the online ad market is continuing to regain strength after a slump that hurt IAC during most of last year.
