CUPERTINO (GaeaTimes.com)- There is no doubt about the fact that the latest smart phone to come out of the Apple factory has become one of the most un-smart gadget with its continuously and embarrassingly failing antenna. Perhaps to correct its image in front of the complaining customers, Apple’s spokesman, Steve Dowling on Saturday announced that the executive in charge of iPhone engineering, Mark Papermaster is leaving the company. The spokesman also added that the responsibilities of Mark Papermaster would now be assumed by Bob Masfield. Bob Masfield at present looks groups that work for iPhone and iPod touch, including the A4 chip, Retina display and touch screen. However, Steve Dowling did not provide any particular reason behind the sudden departure of Mark Papermaster.
Mark Papermaster’s departure from the company comes at the wake of the present smart phone crisis that has no doubt tarnished the image of the company’s products up to some extent. The company had received numerous complaints from its latest smart phone buyers who have complained about its failing antenna and poor call reception. Many media outlets as well have criticized the glitch. The company was forced to announce a free fix to all its buyers for the present problem.
Last week Apple went on to declare that it will be providing especially designed protective cases for its iPhone 4, that many said suffered wireless signal problem even if held with a bare hand. The protective case, the company feels will solve the present problem. However, many sources are doubtful how the replacement of Mark Papermaster will serve the present situation.
