NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com) — Q&A encourages viewers to tweet using the ‘#qanda‘ hashtag and takes questions through its website, www.abc.net.au/qanda. ABC bags huge revenue from Q&A as the appearance of politicians on the show are a big hit. The show averages hundred thousands of viewers per episode.

Last week with the appearance of Prime Minister Julia Gillard, the show averaged 841,000 viewers — a record since its 2008 debut. The Prime Minister faced host Tony Jones and a live studio audience. In the episode with Julia there were 24,926 tweets altogether from 5388 people, amounting to about six tweets a second.
