Ecolab buys Illinois commercial laundry business

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Ecolab Inc. on Thursday said it bought Dober Chemical Corp., a privately held commercial laundry business in Woodridge, Ill.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The company said Dober had 2009 sales of about $37 million.

In addition to bolstering its commercial laundry business, Ecolab President and CEO Douglas M. Baker Jr. said the company “provides unique technology in data management and wastewater solutions that will improve the value of our offerings.”

Ecolab provides cleaning and pest-control services to foodservice, food and beverage processing, health care and hotel companies in more than 160 countries.

In afternoon trading, Ecolab shares gained 14 cents to $49.20. The stock has moved between $40.66 and $49.77 in the past 52 weeks.
