KOLKATA - The West Bengal government is looking at restructuring electricity duty to bring some relief to the industries, Finance Minister Asim Dasgupta said here Friday.

Dasgupta, however, refused to give any details. He said the request came to the state government three weeks back.

“We are examining possibilities of how to provide some relief to the industries. Tariff cannot be changed. We are looking at providing some relief in electricity duties to the industries,” the minister said while addressing an interactive session organised by the Merchants Chamber of Commerce.

He said they have received requests from various industries on revision of the electricity tariff.
