KOLKATA - West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee Saturday claimed that Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee has failed to provide “a single job” in her department to the state, and accused her of lying about the recent Kolkata Metro snags.

“She has been the railway minister for more than a year. I just want to ask how many people have got jobs in the railways in the last one year? Not a single person has got a job,” Bhattacharjee said while addressing a rally in Bankura town.

“A few days back, a Kolkata Metro train got derailed and she is blaming the CPI-M (Communist Party of India-Marxist) for this. This is untrue. She is spreading misinformation regarding the train accidents and Kolkata Metro snags,” said Bhattacharjee.

Kolkata Metro witnessed its first ever derailment Oct 20 when two coaches of a Kolkata Metro train derailed near the Central Station. No one was injured in the accident.

The Metro has in the recent past faced frequent disruptions and technical snags.

Earlier this year, more than 200 people died in West Bengal in two major train accidents.
