TVS Motor registers 48 percent volume growth

CHENNAI - Two and three wheeler maker TVS Motor Company closed October with a 48 percent increase in total sales as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

The company registered total sales of 195,271 units in October against 131,941 units in the same month of 2009.

Cumulative total sales for the period April to October 2010 stood at 1,184,065 units.

For the period under review, the company had sold 191,822 two wheelers, up from 131,029 units sold in Oct 2009.

Cumulative two wheeler sales for the period April to October 2010 increased 34 percent, with sales of 1,162,861 units over 868,509 units in April to October 2009.

The company’s domestic sales went up to 173,771 units last month from 118,563 units sold in Oct 2009.

Exports increased from 12,466 units in October 2009 to 18,051 units in October 2010.

Last month TVS Motor sold 3,449 three wheelers as against 912 units sold the corresponding month previous year.

Cumulative three wheeler sales this fiscal till October stood at 21,204 units.
