KOCHI - Kochi-based mobile products development company Dexetra Friday launched here what it claims to be the worlds first life database application.

Named “Friday”, the application automates the process of building a self-database by creating a semantic map of activities that the users do on their phone and also identifying the places they visit. This enables users to travel back in time and pinpoint the information they need, a senior company official said.

According to Narayan Babu, Dexetra’s chief executive officer, the application captures every moment of one’s life and answers questions about oneself by providing a wide array of analytics and maintains a journal.

“Since the smart phone usage is growing globally, ‘Friday’ can definitely play a key role in every user’s life, said Babu.

“Friday” integrates itself with the Android operating system on a very deep and intricate level to derive the content created by the user, the company claimed.

Dexetra has incorporated a smart search algorithm to deliver the user with apt results instantaneously from the semantically mapped database.

The database building process happens real-time and requires almost zero user input. Users can always enhance the map with extra information, it said.

To retrieve information from “Friday” users have to ask a question via voice or text in plain English.

Users can sign for Friday Alpha invites at https://www.friday-app.com/. The current version of the application supports the English language and Dexetra plans to extend it to more languages, said the company.

Dexetra was founded in 2010 by a group of seven young entrepreneurs and specialises in iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry Windows mobile and symbian application development and mobility in general.
