Budget’s impact on 13 sector-specific stock indices

MUMBAI - The impact of the federal budget on 13 sector-specific indices of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which saw the benchmark, 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) close Monday at 17,823.40 points, with a gain of 122.49 points, or 0.69 percent:

* Fast Moving Consumer Goods - Close: 3,432.42, Previous Close: 3,285.67, Gain: 4.47 percent

* Public Sector Units - Close: 8,380.61, Previous Close: 8,216.36, Gain: 2 percent

* Realty - Close: 1,981.65, Previous Close: 1,956.28, Gain: 1.3 percent

* Capital Goods - Close: 12,399.76, Previous Close: 12,325.46, Gain: 0.6 percent

* Oil and Gas - Close: 9,459.45, Previous Close: 9,404.66, Gain: 0.58 percent

* Banking - Close: 11,840.34, Previous Close: 11,832.23, Gain: 0.07 percent

* Power - Close: 2,523.29, Previous Close: 2,521.60, Gain: 0.07 percent

* Metals - Close: 15,348.81, Previous Close: 15,343.86, Gain: 0.03 percent

* Automobiles - Close: 8,252.92, Previous Close: 8,251.04, Gain: 0.02 percent

* Consumer Durables - Close: 5,631.61, Previous Close: 5,631.01, ends flat

* Information Technology - Close: 6,106.81 points, Previous Close: 6,107.02, ends flat

* Healthcare - Close: 5,717.96, Previous Close: 5,720.35, Loss: 0.04 percent
