Kerala to host IT industry conference

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM - The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Kerala government will jointly organise a two-day information technology conference near here starting Dec 10 to deliberate on India’s role in the global IT industry.

Industry captains like Infosys chief executive Kris Gopalakrishnan, IBM India director (strategy) Jeby Cherian and British Airways chief information officer Paul Coby will attend the event to be held in famous tourist destination Kovalam.

The main theme of the conference is “Changing Role of India in Global IT Business”, its organisers said here Friday.

“We at CII were very keen to get some of the eminent experts within India and abroad for the show, and many have accepted our invitation,” said Sanjaya Mariwala, chairman of CII Kerala State Council.

“We are sure that the event will be able to bring out some great thoughts and plans to enhance the Indian IT industry further and lay emphasis on boosting investment in Kerala,” Mariwala added.

Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan will inaugurate the conference.
