Selja selling ‘Incredible India’ in Spain

NEW DELHI - India is promoting itself as a major holiday destination in the world and hard selling its tourism potential in the Spanish capital at a five-day international fair.
Minister of Tourism Kumari Selja Wednesday inaugurated the India pavilion at the Jan 20-24 Feira International de Turismo (FITUR) in Spain where hospitality industry professionals from around the globe have gathered, an official statement said Thursday.
The 130 sq m-Indian pavilion has been set up by the India Tourism office in Paris. The aim to participate in the global event is to promote India as a major tourist hub, the statement said.
Selja is leading an Indian delegation at the FITUR.
She also held a meeting with her Spanish counterpart Miguel Sebastian, during which the two discussed bilateral tourism cooperation.
The annual event is a meeting point for tourism professionals from around the world to discuss lines of action, strategies and business alliances to energize and consolidate the tourism business.
Tourism promotion agencies, tour operators, hotels, travel agencies, consultancies and experts in international tourism management and development from all over the world come together at the meet.
