GANDHINAGAR - Shaktisinh Gohil, leader of the opposition Congress in the Gujarat assembly, has charged the Narendra Modi government of giving a Rs.127 crore contract to a bogus company for work at ports.
“The company manipulated work orders of other companies in its own name and submitted to the government. The vigilance commission had asked for legal action against the company to blacklist it but still the government is protecting it,” he added.
Releasing documents to the media, Gohil said that there was criminal connivance between the company, Aatash Computer and Communication Ltd, and the government.
The company, without any experience, got work worth Rs.127 crore from the Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) in 2006.
Gohil demanded that an inquiry should be ordered as to how and who gave the contract to the company.
