MUMBAI - Popular Bollywood singer Shaan has donated his old spectacles to NGO One Sight Foundation as part of “20:20 by Ray-Ban” campaign that aims to provide glasses to the needy.
“I am pleased to donate my frames for this cause which will help people to see the world better,” Shaan said.
Under the campaign, customers can trade-in their old spectacles and get 20 percent off on brand new Ray-Ban optical frames. The spectacles thus collected are cleaned and repaired by the One Sight Foundation, which runs vision care charitable programmes, and then donated to those underprivileged who cannot afford to buy spectacles.
Speaking about the initiative, Amitabh Sehdev, marketing manager of Luxottica India, said: “Millions of people suffer from poor vision simply because they don’t have access to or cannot afford care.”
“With the launch of the “20:20 by Ray-Ban” campaign, we present the consumers a chance to avail of an attractive offer while also giving them an opportunity to get involved and help,” he added.
The month-long campaign that runs till Aug 31 is being aired on leading radio stations and in print dailies across India with teasers like “Magic happens when old spectacles meet 20:20″, “Why does 20:20 leave me feeling very good”, “Are we all doing the 20:20 together” and “This 20:20 will be a bit different with Ray-Ban”.
