NEW DELHI - The Congress-backed Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) will join a mass rally here in February next year against the government’s “anti-worker policies”, a union leader said Wednesday.

The INTUC will join hands with the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), which is close to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Communist-affiliated Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) and All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) in the protest, the leader who did not want to be named told IANS.

The joint rally will be held when parliament meets for the annual budget session, he said.

The INTUC was part of eight trade unions which organised a country-wide strike Tuesday against price rise, violation of labour laws and privatization.
