Global partnership to increase the growth of IT industry

NEW DELHI - Global partnership will leverage the cost of production in the business outsourcing space and add to the growth of the information technology industry in India, Pradeep Udhas, executive director of consulting firm KPMG, said here Wednesday.

He was speaking at a session of Commonwealth Business Forum 2010, jointly organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Commonwealth Business Council (CBC) and Organising Committee of the Commonwealth Games.

Sanjay Kumar Gupta, co-chairman, CII northern regional committee on information and communication technology and emerging technologies and global delivery head of Birlasoft (India) ltd, said business processing outsourcing industry will provide growth to the industry.

“We can target 10 percent of the organisation spending which can be done from a remote place,” he said.

Paul Grey, head of trade and investment, northern region, British High Commission, said Indian IT companies are doing extremely well in Britain. According to him, UK is taking good benefit from the outsourcing facilities of India.
