BHOPAL - The Madhya Pradesh unit of the Bhartiya Janta Party will organise ‘Onion Loan’ demonstrations in every district of the state Thursday to protest the rising prices of the vegetable, a party official said.

“Earlier, people shed tears while chopping onion, but now we cry while buying them,” president of the state BJP Prabhat Jha said.

“And Agricultural Minister Sharad Pawar has said that the situation will remain the same for at least three weeks,” he added.

Party workers will queue up and fill ‘loan applications’ to buy the costly vegetable, he said.

Jha said he will lead the demonstrations in Indore.
