HYDERABAD - Andhra Pradesh will shortly sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Israeli government to promote start-ups and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in IT and IT enabled services (ITES) sectors, state IT Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah announced Thursday.
“We are waiting for the clearance from the government of India and hope to sign the MoU soon,” the minister told reporters here.
Under the MoU, Israel would support SMEs by facilitating tie-ups with venture capitalists and help in identifying the projects.
The state would also sign MoUs with Poland and Sri Lanka.
“Poland is keen to learn from the state in extending ITES to citizens and other initiatives. We had last year signed an MoU but since there was a change in government there, it could not be implemented. The same will be revived now,” said Ratna Prabha, principal secretary of IT, Andhra Pradesh.
Sri Lanka also wants to replicate e-seva and other citizen services initiatives taken by the state.
The government has already signed an MoU with Mauritius for transfer of technology for e-procurement. Mauritius will use the state’s e-procurement platform for its projects in the administration.
