THIRUVANANTHAPURAM - The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs.49.53 crore for the development of the Kollam Technopark, an IT park coming up in Kollam, Kerala.

This is the second funding by Nabard for an IT infrastructure development project under its Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) scheme, Kerala IT officials said.

The first was for the infrastructural development of Infopark, Kochi last fiscal.

The central government had Friday notified the Kollam project as a special economic zone.

“The Nabard funding will be instrumental not only for the developmental work undertaken for the Kollam Technopark, but also for the projects in Mulavana and Perayam (in Kollam district),” said Mervin Alexander, chief executive of Technopark.
