GHAZIABAD - Industrialists in Ghaziabad Saturday took out a procession to the the district magistrate’s office demanding a minimum of 12 hours power supply every day.

Office bearers of different industrial associations jointly appealed to the district administration to ensure smooth power supply to their industries, noting that many units were shifting to other states.

“In the present phase, it is very difficult to face the competition posed by the industries from other states like Gujarat and Uttarakhand, where cheap and uninterrupted power supply is ensured,” C.L. Dhir, who heads the Site IV Industrial Area Association, said.

Another industrialist and councillor, Rajendra Tyagi, said the Uttarakhand government has developed a ‘Medi City’ for pharmaceutical industries and several prestigious firms were shifting their factories to the state.

Acting on the demand, District Magistrate R. Ramesh Kumar said he had written to the state power secretary, requested him to ensure minimum 12 hours power supply every day.
