Harris wins $13M defense contract for radios

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Wireless technology company Harris Corp., said Monday it has received a $13 million order from the U.S. military for radio systems to be mounted in armored trucks.

The Rochester-based company said it will supply multiband handheld radios and vehicular amplifier adapter systems to the Department of Defense. The radios will work under the Joint Tactical Radio System.

Last Monday, Harris was awarded a $12 million order from the U.S. Marine Corps to upgrade its radio systems.

Company shares rose 45 cents to $51.93.
