Northrop Grumman spent $4.1M lobbying in 1Q
NEW YORK — Northrop Grumman Corp. spent a little over $4.1 million lobbying the federal government in the first quarter on a variety of military procurement and weapons projects, according to a recent disclosure form.
It marked a 59 percent increase from the same period a year ago, when the company spent nearly $2.6 million on its lobbying efforts. It spent $5.4 million in the 2009 fourth quarter.
Northrop, based in Los Angeles, lobbied for funding in the defense spending bill on dozens of weapons systems for several branches of the armed forces. It also lobbied on satellite and space-related systems, health care and pension reform proposals.
Besides Congress, the defense contractor lobbied the departments Defense, Homeland Security,as well as NASA, the Coast Guard, Army, Air Force, and others from January through March, according to the form filed April 20 with the House clerk’s office.
