Taiwan’s Acer posts 54 percent jump in 2Q profit
TAIPEI, Taiwan — Acer Inc., the world’s third largest computer vendor, said Wednesday its second quarter profit surged 54 percent year-on-year to New Taiwan dollars 3.6 billion ($111 million) amid increased demand.
Revenue for the April-to-June period rose 26 percent to NT$150.2 billion ($4.7 billion), the company said in a statement that provided no additional details.
The statement was issued after the Taiwan stock market closed. In Wednesday trading Acer shares fell 1.6 percent to end at NT$87.60.
