CHENNAI - The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is looking into the reasons behind the low pass out rates in the May 2010 chartered accountancy examination.

“We are examining the reasons for the low pass out percentage this year,” ICAI President Amarjit Chopra told IANS.

Out of the 13,242 students who appeared in the final under the existing syllabus, only 458 or 3.46 percent passed out.

He said the institute will be holding virtual classes so that students across the country can benefit and also revise the final course study material before November this year.
