KOLKATA - In its drive to attract more IT biggies and generate more employment in West Bengal, Chief Minister Budhhadeb Bhattacharjee Wednesday laid the foundation stone of the East Kolkata IT Park in Nonadanga in the city.
“Several top IT companies, like Rolta, HSBC Electronics Data Processing Limited and HCL Infosystems have already evinced interest in setting up their facilities in the park,” he said.
Approximately one million square feet of space would be developed in the East Kolkata IT Park at an investment of Rs.500 crore.
The IT Park is expected to be fully operational within 18-24 months.
The park would have a Regional Skill Development Centre and an Infrastructure Management Centre, along with networking, hardware and telecom laboratories to help generate more employment.
