Gujarat business delegation feted in Britain

GANDHINAGAR - A high-level delegation of business leaders and government officials from Gujarat, which is in London on a two-day visit, attended a reception hosted by a British MP, official sources said here Wednesday.

The reception, hosted by Barry Gardiner, Labour MP representing Brent North, was attended by industry leaders from a variety of British sectors.

The reception was held in the Attlee Room, Portcullis House, Westminster.

Delegation convener Guruprasad Mohapatra, the managing director of Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited, along with delegation member Mahendra Patel, chairman and managing director of the Mamata Group, and Gardiner addressed the gathering, sources said.

The visit’s objective is to create awareness about Gujarat and its strengths and extend an invitation for the Vibrant Gujarat 2011 Summit to key opinion leaders at the heart of British political system, said the sources.
