BPCL’s second quarter net profit at Rs.2142.22 crore

MUMBAI - State-owned hydrocarbon company Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) Wednesday reported a net profit of Rs.2,142.22 crore for the second quarter of the current fiscal year.

Company has posted a net profit of Rs.21,422.20 million for the quarter ended Sep 30, 2010 as compared to net loss of Rs.1,587.70 million for the quarter ended Sep 30, 2009, the company said in a regulatory filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The total income of the company increased by 30.70 percent at Rs.35,968.36 crore for the second quarter from Rs.27,513.40 crore for the second quarter of 2009.

The total income of the company has increased from Rs.275,134.00 million for the quarter ended Sep 30, 2009 to Rs.359,683.60 million for the quarter ended Sep 30, 2010, the statement added.

According to the company, the under-recoveries on sensitive petroleum products has been compensated to the company at an extent of Rs.53,187.8 crore as against Rs.10,404.3 crore in the second quarter of the last year.
