HLCC on Financial Markets meets

A meeting of the High Level Coordination Committee on Financial Markets (HLCCFM) was held today at Kolkata. Dr. D. Subbarao, Governor, Reserve Bank of India chaired the meeting. Shri Ashok Chawla, Finance Secretary;  Dr. Kaushik Basu, Chief Economic Advisor, Ministry of Finance, Government of India; Shri C.B. Bhave, Chairman, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI); Shri J. Hari Narayan, Chairman, Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA); and senior officials of the Government of India, RBI, SEBI and PFRDA attended the meeting.

The HLCCFM is a high level forum for interface among the financial sector regulators.

The HLCCFM deliberated on the issues, inter alia, pertaining to the development of the corporate bond market including private placement of bonds and better understanding of regulatory gaps in the non-banking financial sector activities.
