NEW DELHI - Despite heavy fog cover over the national capital, the Indira Gandhi International Airport did not see flight cancellations or delays, an official here said Saturday, adding that only one cargo flight was diverted.

“Low Visibility Procedure (LVP) was implemented at IGIA on Jan 7 at 2320 hrs and terminated today (Saturday) at 1148 hrs, duration of 12 hours 28 minutes,” a Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) official said.

Barring one cargo flight which was diverted due to low visibility levels, all other flights more or less operated on time, he said.

According to the official, 208 flights operated under various categories of instrument landing system (ILS) in the duration of LVP.

“The visibility levels hovered around 175 metres and various categories of ILS systems were pressed into service like CAT-I-II and III A ILS systems,” the official added.
