HANOI - Prime Minister Manmohan Singh left here for home Saturday, ending a three-nation Asian tour of Japan, Malaysia and Vietnam during which he met with some top leaders from the region and concluded talks for major economic pacts with two countries.

HANOI - China reached out to India Friday amid continuing undercurrents of tension, with Premier Wen Jiabao telling Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the outset of their much-awaited meeting that he would like to visit Delhi this year and the Indian leader responding he was "very glad".

HANOI - India is looking at a proposal to allow foreign equity in the multi-brand retail industry, including a proposal from Swedish home furnishing giant Ikea for 100 percent venture in the country, Commerce Minister Anand Sharma said Thursday.

HANOI - Ahead of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's meeting with the South Korean leadership here, India Thursday sought to reassure potential investors from that country and said issues concerning the $12-billion Posco project will be dealt with "constructively".

HANOI - India is negotiating comprehensive economic agreements with Indonesia and Thailand on the lines of those just signed with Japan and Malaysia, official sources said Thursday.
