NICOSIA, Cyprus - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed 15 agreements boosting bilateral ties with Cyprus on Thursday, including a key accord abolishing double taxation that officials hope will be a boon to investment in both countries.

JERUSALEM - Israel began moving 250 tons of construction supplies into Gaza on Monday, the largest shipment of raw materials to the coastal territory since it eased a blockade in the wake of a deadly raid on a flotilla trying to break the embargo in May.

UNITED NATIONS - Israel urged Lebanon and the international community on Friday to prevent ships from sailing to Gaza from the Lebanese port of Tripoli to break Israel's blockade of the Hamas-ruled Palestinian territory.

YEREVAN, Armenia - Russia secured a long-term foothold in the energy-rich and unstable Caucasus region Friday by signing a deal with Armenia that allows a Russian military base to operate until 2044 in exchange for a promise of new weaponry and fresh security guarantees.
