Obama to discuss jobs on Georgia visit March 2

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will talk about jobs and the economy when he travels to Savannah, Ga., on March 2.

The president will meet with workers, small-business owners and local leaders to discuss ideas for creating jobs and growing the economy. It will be the third trip of its kind that Obama has taken outside of Washington to highlight administration efforts to bring down unemployment, which remains high at 9.7 percent.

Obama made similar trips to Allentown, Pa., in December, and to Elyria, Ohio, last month.

The White House announced the Georgia trip on Monday.
