Industry appeals for peace

NEW DELHI - India Inc heaved a sigh of relief with leading industry lobbies Thursday saying the Allahabad High Court judgment on the the Ayodhya land dispute suit was a victory for all parties and appealed for peace.
\”The verdict is a win-win for all individuals in the case. Of course, the legal possibilities are open to all,\” said D.S. Rawat, secretary general of the Associated Chambers of Commerce and India.
\”Our chamber expresses confidence that no anti-national element will disrupt peace and communal harmony,\” he said in a statement, soon after the three judges of the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court gave the verdict.
A majority ruling of the three-judge bench said the site would be divided into three parts - one for the Muslims, one for the Hindus and the third for the Nirmohi Akhara.
Rajan Bharti Mittal, President, FICCI said people across the country need to keep calm and continue with their active professional lives.
\”FICCI feels that any wide-scale disturbance will jeopardise economic growth, inclusion, poverty eradication and calibrated globalization,\” said Mittal.
Attendance in a host of offices was thin across the country with most managements declaring Thursday a half-day, ahead of the Ayodhya land dispute verdict. Some firms even declared a
