Escorts delivers 100 tractors to Tanzania

NEW DELHI - Indian tractor manufacturer Escorts Thursday delivered 100 tractors to Tanzania as part of a contract with the government there.

Escorts delivered its premium Farmtrac brand of tractors at a function attended by Tanzanian Prime Minister Mizengo Kayanza Peter Pinda at Dar-Es-Salam, the company said in a statement.

Escorts has a contract to with the Tanzanian government to supply 2,000 tractors by December-end this year.

\”We strongly believe that farm mechanization holds the key to greater food security. Escorts powered the green revolution in India and we are privileged to support the national efforts to usher in the green revolution in Tanzania,\” said Escorts Agri Machinery Group Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director Rohtash Mal.

Escorts has a plan to open two offices in the African continent and set up a service and upkeep infrastructure in the continent, he added.
