Vardhman to set up another facility in Himachal

SHIMLA - The Vardhman Group would set up one more spinning facility in Himachal Pradesh by next year.

“The single window clearance and monitoring authority at its meeting held here today (Tuesday) approved eight industrial proposals, including Vardhman’s Baddi facility,” Industries Department Director Onkar Sharma told IANS here.

He said the company would invest Rs.207 crore in the unit that would be operational by November next year.

The company is already operating its unit in Baddi.

Sharma said another knitwear company, Ganga Knit Private Ltd. of Ludhiana, has also got permission to set up its Rs.260-crore unit in Gagret in Una district.

“Ranbaxy’s expansion proposal of Rs.60 crore at its existing facility in Paonta Sahib (in Sirmaur district) also got approval of the government,” he added.

Himachal Pradesh has 38 industrial areas and 15 industrial estates.
