LONDON - British officegoers failed to utilise a combined total of 111 million holidays in 2010 and did free work worth 11 billion pounds, a study has found.

The average worker in Britain failed to take 3.8 days of annual leave, as a result of which firms benefited by 10,870,356,000 pounds, the Daily Express reported citing the study by website Hotels.com.

Many Britons said they forgot to book time off until it was too late.

The research also revealed that, after teachers, those in the health and social service industry will get the most annual leave in 2011.

Those worst off are creative and media professionals, with a third receiving only the statutory 20 days.
