Iranian Ambassador to India offers alternative pacts in oil import policy

NEW DELHI - Iran’s Ambassador to India, Seyed Mahdi Nabizadeh,on Tuesday said India can sort out the hurdles and work out on different bilateral agreements over payment issues regarding import of oil from Iran.
Addressing a press conference here, Nabizadeh said: “It depends on India how it would like to effect payments for the imported petroleum products from Iran.”
“India is considering importing gas from two routes; one from Iran and Pakistan and one from Turkmenistan, Pakistan and Iran. Both the routes are having the same status. They are quite economical and they can go for them. Both have the same security conditions. Therefore for transferring gas from any part these, things have to be considered. Both are possible. But we have to see how much is the reserve of the each country? Only then we would be able to fulfill the gas demand by the receiving country,” he added.
He also said that 90 percent of the project for transmission of gas is completed in the country.
Further commenting on the Egypt uprising, the Iranian envoy said that it depends on the citizens of the country how they pursue it as every country has its own sensitive issues.
“Muslim brotherhood had many times opposed the Egyptian government’s friendship with the Israel government that is the negative attitude towards the Gaza people. This organisation is giving its experience for last many years, so that they can play a positive role,” said Nabizadeh.
“It depends on how much the people support this organisation in their movement. We have said many times that people all over the world are responsible for each other. Particular community have their own sensitivity to their community members in the other parts of the world,” he added.
Extending his support to the Egypt protests for removal of the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, he said that people would object to the government, which does not respect feelings for its citizens.
“If any government does not respect the aspirations of its people, it will face opposition,” he added. (ANI)
