Aqua business opportunities on display at Chennai

CHENNAI - An exhibition on various latest techniques in aquaculture, pisciculture and breeding of ornamental fish was held on Tuesday.
‘Aqua Aquaria India’ was organised by Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) to exhibit latest trends in the fishing industry allied products.
Director of Marketing, MPEDA, N Ramesh said, “we wanted to showcase to our farmers what all developments are happening in aquaculture. How they can diversify in growing different species of fishes, how can they increase the production of shrimps. I think this was the best opportunity for them to gain in depth knowledge about this sector.”
Different aspects of aquaculture were on display including ornamental fish business.
M Mani Kannadan, a visitor, said, “This exhibition holds a variety of fishes, prawns and other set of products, commercial products also, which are useful for the fish culturing and aquaculture,”
Over 50 stalls and more than 500 varieties of ornamental fish and prawns were on display(ANI)
