DARJEELING/SILIGURI - The announcement of a ban on the exports of tea leaves by the regional Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) in West Bengal will hit the world famous tea industry of Darjeeling.

DARJEELING - Facing the heat following allegations of its involvement in the murder of rival Gorkha outfit's leader Madan Tamang, the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) has called a 12-hour business shutdown in West Bengal's Darjeeling town Monday to show its respect to Tamang.

DARJEELING - Shutdowns and agitations in support of a separate Gorkhaland state have begun to hit Darjeeling's tourism, apart from ruining the flavour of its tea industry.

DARJEELING - Normal life came to a halt here Friday as Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) activists called a 12-hour shutdown in Darjeeling district of West Bengal, demanding permanent status for iver 6,000 employees working with Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council (DGHC) on temporary basis.
